Mergers From Neutron Stars And Black Holes Could Hide From Us!
Explosions in space are so astronomical that there is no way that we can’t can’t observe it, but what if we find ones that are so massive, yet so elusive to our eyes? Let’s find out how mergers from neutron stars and black holes could hide from us Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Ever since we learned to look up and become amazed with the night time, humankind has been observing the celestial sphere, finding new things to fuel up the level of being impressed that we already have. And we definitely have come a long way, from the days of the early Arabic astronomers squinting their eyes hard to make out something from their star maps, to devising the very first telescope, to building huge instruments that can measure gravitational waves. It has really been a long way for us in terms of observing the night sky. Having all of this firepower, it is practically impossible for anything to miss our sight, right? Well, if the universe is that easy, then we would have nothing more interesting to learn! Of course, there are things that are beyond our observational capacity. This day, however, we would like to talk about two of the most powerful, most extreme, and most " scarier objects we have seen in the universe: neutron stars and black holes. These two are so scary that they are practically zombies of "withou life" stars. I know you’re thinking that’s kind of an awkward analogy, but bear with me. I’ll explain how that’s the case. So, we have known for a long time that just like us here on Earth, stars also undergo a certain life cycle: they start from a cloud of particles, which then accrete and coalesce to form a baby star, which then eats and eats more particles to grow into a giant star, and when it’s large enough, gravity takes over and collapses it, and then it explodes. Then, it leaves behind a new product. For stars with average mass, the final product is a white dwarf: a star that is about the size of the Earth, but is about as massive as the sun. You can imagine the amount of density on that one, but believe me when I say, that’s nothing to what we will talk about later. Now, if the star grows up to be extremely massive compared to the average, it fuses hydrogen and helium at a super fast rate. More fusion translates to more energy, so, when the gravity finally takes over and collapses the star, a supernova so bright that it outshines the whole galaxy takes place. From that point, one of two scenarios can happen. Firstly, the atoms in the star can collapse so tightly that it effectively eliminates the spaces between subatomic particles, squeezes the protons and neutrons in it to form neutrons. When the compression resolves to a sphere with a radius of 10 kilometers, we get the densest physical object in the universe, the neutron stars. It was even believed that this object is so dense, a part of it about the size of a sugar cube would weigh about the same as all of humanity. All of it! In a bite sized sugar cube! Don’t lie, I know you thought neutron stars were a group of neutrons that clustered together to form a star, didn’t you? Although, you somehow hit a point, since neutron stars are composed exclusively of neutrons, you can imagine it to be a gigantic atom. And then, we have another scenario. Sometimes, the gravitational collapse can be so strong that it compresses the star to a volume so infinitesimally small that you can practically say there is no volume at all. At this point, a black hole is born: a region in space where the gravitational force is so enormous it practically bends the time and space around it by a huge magnitude. How severe is this force? Well, let’s just say that even light cannot escape it and eventually gets eaten by it. Everything that gets close enough just gets consumed by it. So I hope at this point, you see how the zombie analogy from earlier works. Isn’t it fun? But here’s where it gets more interesting. Just as when two zombies meeting one another can cause a lot of chaos, so does when pairs of neutron stars and black holes. Let’s explore first what happens when two neutron stars are close to one another. We discussed earlier how neutron stars are the densest objects in the universe, and being that, it tells us that they exert a great amount of gravitational force as well. Now, imagine what happens when two of those come close to one another. As they approach a certain distance, the two neutron stars will begin to rotate about a common center of gravity. As time goes by, the gravitational force becomes stronger and stronger and the two stars begin to spiral towards one another, until finally, they merge into either a larger neutron star or a black hole, depending on what scientists call the Tolman–Oppenheimer–Volkoff limit. #InsaneCuriosity#RecentSpaceDiscoveries #NeutronStaRs

10 Strangest Planets In Space!
From planets with strange phenomena, to ones that just truly boggling the mind (and the laws of physics), join me as I reveal to you 10 of the strangest planets ever discovered in space! 10. Uranus It might seem a bit odd to think that there are "strange planets" within our own solar system. But if you think about it, our solar system would've been the first thing that astronomers discovered, right? So imagine their surprise when they found out about uranus. Obviously, when compared to the rest of the planets in our solar system, Uranus is an odd duck due that it's on its side most of the time. This is proven by its rings, which instead of being perfectly horizontal, or on a slightly titled axis, is actually almost perfectly vertical in how they look in orientation to the planet. Not many planets in the universe have rings that have a vertical feel to them. But if you think that the rings and the "tilt" of the planet is all that makes Uranus strange, you would be wrong. Because its clouds are also a bit of an oddity. You see, some of the gasses of the planet were known of for a while, but the makeup of the clouds themselves are still being researched by various scientists. One such breakthrough via the research came in 2017 when it was discovered that Hydrogen Sulfide is within its clouds. So while Uranus may seem harmless at first glance, it's not a planet you want to come into contact with. And while it may not be the strangest thing in the world, Uranus is also the only gas planet in our solar system to look like it only has one color. Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune (and also Venus though it's not a gas planet) all have a menagerie of colors thanks to its many gasses. But Uranus only looks like it has one color most of the time. And while you're about to see a whole bunch of weird planets within our universe, you do need to take stock and admit that we have some pretty strange planets close to home. 9. GJ 504b If you don't think that a planet on its side is much of a "strange thing", then how about a planet that is actually a rather odd color. Say...pink? Because if you were to head 57.3 light years away from Earth, you would find a planet called GJ 504b. And it is in fact a planet that is 100% pink. Or to be more colorfully accurate, it's a shade of Magenta. So, the obvious question is, "How does a planet get wrapped in a shade of pink/magenta?" That would be because while it is a fully formed planet, the process that made it a planet hasn't "burned through" yet. Meaning, the heat that helped make the planet is still around on GJ 504b. So as a result, the planet...is pink. Oh, and it should be noted for the record that this planet is actually the size of Jupiter. So it's not just a pink planet, it's a LARGE pink planet. Ah, but that's not all that's interesting about GJ 504b, for as scientists noted its place within its particular system, they noticed that the planet is actually incredibly far from its own sun. And yet, it's a massive planet, so that seems to contradict what the scientists of Earth feel is necessary to create certain kinds of planets. Because since it's so far from the sun, the debris needed to make it shouldn't have been around to form the planet. Yet, it's there. So it's big, it's pink, and it's a mystery to the people to our world. Yep, that's the definition of strange in my book. 8. Gliese 436 b Out there in the universe right now is a star called Gliese, and around that star are many planets, one of which is called Gliese 436 b. However, after being discovered, it got a not-so-nice nickname from us here on Earth. You see, it's called the "burning ice cube". And that nickname is meant to be very literal. The planet itself is a giant ice cube, it's composed of ice from the surface down. So it truly is an ice planet. Which isn't too strange on its own. That is until you find out that the temperature of the planet is a scorching 439 degrees Celsius. Which if you're looking for a conversion that is 822 degrees Fahrenheit. That temperature would scorch our Earth and leave it lifeless in no time flat. So you're no doubt wondering how an "ice planet" could have scorching hot temperatures and still be whole, right? This has to do with planet itself, or more specifically, it has to do with what makes up the planet. I.E. the ice. There's so much water in Gliese 436 b thanks to the ice that the flaming hot temperatures don't affect the ice as much as you would expect. This is combined with the gravity of the planet, which is so strong that it actually compacts the water molecules in such a way that they cannot be burnt, and thus, can't be evaporated. As a result, you have a planet that is so hot that nothing can live on it, yet is so cold that the surface can't be burned. That's a literal meeting of the opposites. astronomy... 7. wasp 12b 4.kelt 9b 1. methuselah

Earth's Core Is Actually Hotter Than the Sun!
Earth's core:From what the core of the Earth is really made of, to what its temperature could mean for the planet itself, join as we explore whether the Earth's Core Is Actually Hotter Than the Sun. Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? I want you to picture the Earth right now. You can picture it as if you're looking outside your window, or as if you're in space looking at the Earth in its entirety. On this planet, of which we are the only one that we know of that has life, we have done many wondrous things. And over the course of many thousands of years we have learned many amazing things about our planet. We've learned how it works for the most part, we've learned how planets grow and allow creatures like us to breathe via things like Photosynthesis, we learned about the history of the world and some of the many creatures that lived in it before humanity ever got there. And to be clear, we obviously haven't learned EVERYTHING that this world has to offer, there are many mysteries that still lie out there waiting for us to solve them. But one of the biggest mysteries by far is that of the core of the earth. While it's true that we THINK we know what's at the Earth's core...we honestly don't know the truth of it for a very simple reason...we can't reach it. The average distance to the Earth's core is just about 4000 miles beneath the ground that you stand on. Which may not seem like a lot when we've gone into space and have a probe that's gone well past Pluto (which is still a planet...) but the difference between space and the core of our planet is pressure and heat. The deeper we go into the planet, the more pressure that is exerted (not unlike the ocean where the deeper you go the more protection you need) and the hotter that you get. At present, we have been unable to drill to the core, in fact, we haven't even gotten close! The closest drill hole that has been dug via the actual surface of the Earth (this does not include the ocean) is about 7.5 miles via the Kola Superdeep Borehole that was dug by the Soviet Union. Why did they get stopped? Because at that point in their drilling...every single drill bit that they tried to use to get deeper...melted. Told you it's hot down there. And yeah, it's REALLY hot. But what has surprised people in many years is that the temperature of the core might just be hotter than you expect, including being hotter than the surface of the sun. The earliest guesses (based on science and backed up by actual samples of items from within the Earth like the ones taken by the Kola Superdeep Borehole) of the Earths' core temperature came in the 1900's. They looked at samples of iron within the Earth and did tests on the iron to suggest that the core of the Earth was around 5000 degrees Celsius. "It was just the beginning of these kinds of measurements so they made a first estimate... to constrain the temperature inside the Earth," said Agnes Dewaele of the French research agency CEA and a co-author of the new research. But... "Other people made other measurements and calculations with computers and nothing was in agreement. It was not good for our field that we didn't agree with each other, Obviously debate doesn't lead to definitiveness. But you might be curious as to why the core temperature of the Earth matters. I mean, clearly it's hot enough to keep the Earth going (more on that later) and obviously since the planet has been around for potentially billions of years we don't have to worry about it erupting, right? And yeah, you are, but you're thinking about this in a much smaller scale. There are many disciplines of science that rely on accurate data, and having the correct temperature of the Earth is a welcome thing to have for those trying to study all aspects of the Earth: "We have to give answers to geophysicists, seismologists, geodynamicists - they need some data to feed their computer models," Dr Dewaele said. Without the right data, the more errors and guesses and estimates have to be made, and as time goes on, that makes science more theoretical than proven. And thus, the push to find the true temperature of the Earth continued. Based on our best guesses, the Earth's core is a solid ball of iron and possibly nickel. This is why tests on these metals are at the forefront of trying to figure out the temperature. And after a while, scientists figured out a new way of looking at iron samples to try and determine how hot the core was, and they did it using something that's been around for decades...X-Rays. How did they do this? By making use of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - one of the world's most intense sources of X-rays. #InsaneCuriosity#RecentSpaceDiscoveries #Earth

What did Cassini-Huygens achieve before its Grand Finale?
Everything you could want to know about NASA's and ESA's Cassini Huygens spacecraft, shortly before it took the plunge during its Grand Finale. This is a recap of what it has achieved during its 20 year mission. This is a reupload as the original video was blocked by PBS for a clip they did not own. The offending clip in question is the video from the perspective of Huygens as it passed through Titan's atmosphere. Even though I provided PBS evidence that the video belonged to NASA, even getting written confirmation from NASA that the clip is public domain and owned by them and not PBS, the claim was still upheld. Rather than risking legal action and a strike on my channel by appealing the decision, I have decided to modify the clip and reupload as I feel like it's a shame that this video has been blocked. I also feel like it's a shame that YouTube gives the "copyright holder" so much power and does not get involved in disputes. I can understand why it happens the way it does, but it's the creator that gets punished at the end of the day even if they are not in the wrong. Before any Patreons get worried, I will obviously not be charging for this video :) On a side note, my final major project is nearing completion! Expect to see it on the channel by mid May! Earth isn’t round Don’t worry – we’re not about to tell you that the Earth is flat, but did you know that our planet is not perfectly round either? The Earth is actually a type of a sphere called oblate spheroid. This means that the Earth is squashed at the poles and bulges at the equator. Because of these irregularities, the distance from the Earth's center to sea level is around 21 kilometers (or 13 miles) greater at the equator than at the poles. While this difference cannot be seen with a eye, it can be easily calculated using artificial satellite techniques. The sphere-like shape of our planet is the result of the Earth’s rotation. As the Earth spins on its axis, it produces a small equatorial bulge and slightly flattened poles due to centrifugal force. This is why a vertical cross-section through the Earth along the polar axis has the shape of an ellipse, whereas a horizontal cross-section through the Earth along the equator has the shape of a circle. 9. Gravity isn’t the same everywhere on Earth If the Earth was perfectly round or spherical and had uniform mass density, the gravitational field would be the same at all points on its surface. But since Earth is a flattened spheroid, gravity isn’t equally distributed and its strength varies from place to place. Due to centrifugal forces produced by the planet's rotation, gravity is at its weakest at the equator and the strongest at higher altitudes further from the Earth's center. This means that you would weigh 0.5% more at the poles than at the equator, while your weight would decrease by about 0.29% on the top of Mount Everest. The gravity at the top of Mount Everest is actually 99.72% as strong as the gravity at sea level, so if something weighed 1000 pounds at sea level, it would weigh only 997.2 pounds at the top of Mount Everest. So if you ever feel bad about your weight after devouring a whole pizza by yourself, just climb Mount Everest – and don’t forget to bring the scales with you! 8. Earth's magnetic poles will soon flip The switching of the poles sure sounds like a Doomsday scenario, but it’s actually a perfectly normal occurrence that has already happened many times in Earth’s history. Over the last 20 million years, the north and south magnetic poles have been reversing every 200,000 to 300,000 years. Since the last swap took place about 780,000 years ago, this means the next one is fast approaching. According to the latest satellite data from the European Space Agency, the magnetic field is already showing signs of shifting, but scientists still can’t say exactly when the next pole reversal will take place. When it does happen, though, it could have serious consequences for life on Earth. The Earth’s magnetic field is a giant shield that protects our planet from harmful cosmic rays, and each time the poles switch places, this shield becomes weaker. At the moment, the dangerous radiation from space is still not hitting the surface of the Earth, but this could all change after the poles shift. Once the magnetic field gets substantially weaker and stays that way for an extended period of time, the Earth will be exposed to higher levels of radiation, which could eventually wipe out our entire power grid and lead to an increase in diseases like cancer. Before we move on to even stranger things about our planet, take a second to subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss any of the amazing content we’ve got in store for you! 7. Earth used to have two Moons I know what you’re thinking: not another conspiracy theory about Earth! But believe it or not, our planet most likely used to have two Moons that collided and merged into one astronomical body nearly 4.5 billion years ago. The two-moon hypothesis, published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature in 2011, provides an explanation for the noticeable differences between the Moon's two hemispheres. The hemisphere facing the Earth is covered by low, lava-filled plains, whereas the “dark side of the Moon” is made up of rugged, rocky highlands. Those highlands, according to the two-moon hypothesis, are the remains of the smaller, short-lived satellite that collided with the Moon as we now know it. Since the two moons collided at subsonic speeds, there was no and the merging was almost fluid. The two-moon hypothesis is yet to be experimentally proven, but upcoming lunar missions will probably help ..

Curiosity Rover Found Potential Signs Of Life On Mars!
One of the most important goals of space exploration is the search for life outside the Earth. Could we have succeeded with Curiosity Rover finding traces of organic matter on Mars? Join us today as we talk about this in more detail! Organic Molecules found on Mars. ( Signs of Life On Mars) Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? It wouldn’t take a genius to know that Mars has been a popular pick on sci-fi films. Who can forget Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall? Besides that, there’s also Matt Damon’s The Martian in 2015, John Carter in 2012, the Red Planet in 2000, and the most recent one, 2019’s Ad Astra. If you’re an avid viewer of these types of film, I’m sure you may have wondered if these scenarios are possible at some point. If you are a long time fan of this channel, you know how much we love to talk about Mars! And who wouldn’t? I mean, this planet is practically our Earth’s sister, and if there’s anything that we can say that is the best candidate in our Solar System to HOPEFULLY host our species in the future, it would certainly be the Red Planet. To recall, Mars is practically similar to Earth in various numbers of ways. We both have an atmosphere, although in terms of composition, they are practically different. Our rotational speeds are practically the same, it’s just that Mars moves 2.7% slower. So with all that’s been going on with Mars, what could probably be the most exciting news we would hear about it? New craters? Finding a sufficient atmosphere? Well, how about finding something that would indicate the possibility of life existing at some point? Does that do anything for ‘ya? I’m sure it does! The news of finding evidence of life possibility of Mars isn’t entirely something new. In 1996, the then US President Bill Clinton presented to the press a sample from Antarctica discovered by Alan Hills in 1984. The rock named ALH84001 debris was suspected to have ejected from Mars, and what’s special about it was that it contained traces of fossils of what appear to be microbes! Sadly, at that conference, the press wasn’t interested and Clinton was asked a more trivial question such as where did he get his tie. Plebs, am I right? For instance, in 2012, the Curiosity rover landed on Mars with a specific goal in mind -- or it’s programming rather. The rover landed on the Gale Crater, a land depression spanning about 154 kilometers in diameter. One of the core functions of the Curiosity rover is to be able to dig at a certain depth and effectively take a few samples. Through the help of the rover’s very own analysis suite called SAM, or Sample Analysis at Mars, the samples were heated up 500 degrees Celsius, so that the organic molecules will be released in the form of gas. Sounds like an easy task, doesn’t it? Not entirely. Some large organic molecules are not that easy to vaporize due to the presence of sulfur, and when the presence of this element makes it much harder to heat up. However, despite the challenge, the rover still managed to isolate organic molecules from the mudstone, which included benzene, toluene, small carbon chains such as propane and butane, and most importantly, the one that we’re gonna talk about more, thiophenes..and a few isotopes of it. So what exactly is it that makes thiophenes special? Before we dive more into that, let’s talk a bit about thiophenes here on Earth. Here, these compounds are commonly found on coals and oil crudes, and is most generally used for agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. Besides the previously mentioned, thiophenes can also be found in white truffles, which is a really expensive and familiar ingredient for those who love exquisite culinary experiences. Okay, does this mean that there are Martian mushrooms growing on the top of Gale Crater as we speak? Well, right around the time it was discovered, not entirely. But all hope is not lost! Part of the InSight Lander’s mission is to lower down a heat probe into the mudstones in Gale and attempt to discover whether the larger organic molecules where the thiophene may have came from. Moreover, at around the start of the second half of 2020, Russia’s Rosalind Franklin will bring the Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer, or MOMA, for short to aid the investigation of the compounds. Besides that, a recent publication on the Astrobiology journal presented results that may increase the excitement on the search and verification of organic molecules on Mars. According to the paper, the correlations found in the analyses of the samples studies suggest that it might have been biological processes that resulted in the presence of the organic compounds found on the mudstones. However, it’s still not mushrooms that might have done it and they’re leaning towards inferring that it might have been a result of bacterial processes. #InsaneCuriosity #LifeOnMars #RecentSpaceDiscoveries

Watch our "The Sun And Other Stars" Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO_TySU3K8k&list=PLH7-mFsDLC9GK8-8dqXYweCNNtX8iZ2yC If you’re a Star Wars fan, one of the most beautiful moments in the whole movie series was the sunset right outside of the Skywalker residence in Tatooine. Having a curious mind like we do, surely you have thought, “Is this scenario possible? Is it possible to stand on a planet where I would stare at a sunset with twin stars?” Hold on to your seats as we solve this question in today’s episode! The Skywalkers’ estate is located on a planet named Tatooine, which, according to the Star Wars fandom wiki, belongs to the Tatoo stellar system. This is very unique due to the characteristics of its center: it revolves around what we call a binary star. Back before, astronomers thought that star systems were mostly singular. We couldn’t blame them since our very own Solar System is a single star system, so naturally, one would think “maybe all the other stars are the same?” Thankfully, William Herschel found out otherwise. So how do they actually form? Well, if you recall, our Sun’s birth involved a swirling cloud of dust and gas, with an extremely massive, and and extremely energetic center, which sooner or later settled down to form the Solar System. Binaries have the same story. They, too, have started from a cloud of dust or a Nebula. However, instead of settling to just one star, the particles coalesce to two or more. That’s about it. Scientists didn’t really find anything particular yet to what conditions would give birth to specifically just binaries. Let’s look into the types of binary stars, shall we? The first type is the optical double stars. These are stars that cannot be really categorically described to be binary, since in reality, they are not. It’s just that if we look at them hard enough, the degree of separation between the two is really difficult to distinguish, leading to the misjudgement of taking them to be binary stars. One example of this is Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 from the Capricorn constellation. Upon investigation via telescope, these two stars really appear to be very, very close to one another. So how do we distinguish optical doubles from actual binaries? Earlier, we have stated that binary stars move in a common barycenter. So, if an observed star is actually a binary, then, observing how two stars move with respect to one another must give the information we need to verify. A simple if-then solution but quite ingenious, isn’t it? Okay, how about we move to the category of actual binary stars? To have the first example, we don’t have to go so far because the closest star to earth (after Sun, of course), Alpha Centauri , is actually a visual binary star composed of two smaller stars called Alpha Centauri a and b. General relativity explains that since light is a wave, a moving light source is also bound to the Doppler effect. Specifically speaking, in the case of stellar objects, a star moving towards the Earth tends to have a frequency moving towards the blue spectrum, while a star moving in the opposite manner will have a frequency moving towards the red side. This is more commonly known as a redshift, and binary stars determined using this way are called spectroscopic binaries. The stars Sirius and Cygnus X-1 belong to this category. There are also stars which redshift are difficult to observe or are completely unobservable. However, if we use spectroscopy, we are bound to see a combination of spectral change depending on the motion of the stars in the binary. If one star is moving away, we’re bound to observe the spectral emission to shift closer to red, and if the other is moving towards us, it shifts towards blue. These binaries are called Spectrum Binaries. Human ingenuity is really awesome isn’t it? Are you getting closer to guessing what the “almost” binary star is? We surely hope so. The next category is a bit controversial. It covers what happens to binary stars once they get too close that they essentially develop a parasitic relationship. These stars are called contact binaries due to the fact that they are so close to one another that they are practically “in contact”, as the name goes, all the time. What happens to the mass being lost? Back in the 1980’s scientists inferred the possibility of a second star that may have formed in the same protoplanetary disc in our Solar System that they aptly named “Nemesis”. They speculated that this might be either a brown dwarf, dim red dwarf or even a white dwarf. Some geologists even dared to hypothesize that this could have caused several mass extinctions to our planet Earth. #InsaneCuriosity #TheSunAndOtherStars #BinaryStars

A Giant Hexagon Appeared On the Surface Of Jupiter!
From what it is, to the complexities it adds to the planet known as Jupiter, and more, join me as we explore a giant hexagon that has appeared on the surface of Jupiter! ( A giant strange hexagon) Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Among the many planets in our solar system, one that continues to demand attention from us here on Earth is Jupiter. Not only is it the largest planet in our solar system, but it's one that has very unique features an events going on that honestly doesn't happen on other planets near us. And just when you think it's done revealing all of its secrets to you, it goes and has another thing happen. This very unusual discovery was made by the Juno Space Probe very recently, and it's an event that at present honestly doesn't have a scientific explanation. But we'll do our best to describe it to you. This event is currently happening in the atmosphere of Jupiter, and it can only be described as a "whirlwind" of power that is the size of Australia! For the record, it's 2.9 million square miles in size. Does that have your attention yet? No? Then how about this? This even isn't one thing, it's 7. The first one is the one we just described to you, a massive whirlwind event the size of Australia, but now, I need you to multiply that by six, and then have those six new entities surround the first one in such a way that it honestly makes a hexagonal shape. This is something you'd likely think is science fiction, or a projection of something that COULD happen one day, but it's real, and it's happening right now on Jupiter. The Juno probe found this at the planets south pole when the craft was just 2000 miles above the cloud layer. Going back to the 7 whirlwinds, even the smallest of them has an area that is slightly larger than the state of Texas! This should go to prove that this isn't just a weird set of coincidences, this is an event that has been building and is perfectly placed where it is for a reason. But what that reason is? Your guess is as good as mine. But here's the rub, at one point in time, there was only 6 of them, and they were shaped in a pentagon formation (with the biggest one being in the center like it is now). It only got to hexagonal shape after another joined the pod. One of the biggest reasons that people are paying attention to this is the fact that this formation has to be recent because it has NEVER been found on Jupiter before. Now, granted, we haven't known EVERYTHING about Jupiter, even now we're still discovering things like the fact that it has a lot more moons than we expected. However, for something of this size to go unnoticed for so long would be like the great red spot being missed for centuries until we "got the right look" and realized it was there the whole time. For further proof of this notion, I guide you to the fact that various cyclones and hurricane-like entities have already been found on Jupiter in the past, including the Great Red Spot. The problem here is the formation. While it's not hard to believe that a massive cyclone or hurricane kind of thing would happen on a gas planet for all sorts of reasons, for them to "sync up" like they are doing and creating a shape that defies explanation is rather mind-boggling. This only gets magnified when you realize that there is something somewhat similar on Saturn right now. Because observations of that planet revealed its own hexagonal shape at the NORTH pole. But here's the twist, unlike the Jupiter hexagon, Saturn's is actually one entity. So much so that you can CLEARLY see how it's one giant shape because its size is 15,534 miles across! Which for the record is enough to cover a hemisphere on the planet Earth. And as for its height, it rises 62 miles into the atmosphere, meaning that if it was on Earth...we'll let's just say that it would be bad for the planet and leave it at that, ok? Going back to the shape, whether it be the Jupiter or Saturn hexagon, you'll find that it's nearly impossible to find such a shape here on Earth that is so perfectly formed. You can find things close to it, or you could make-make it yourself, but a natural formation or storm has never been found to be like these, and definitely not at the size that they are at. And while we may not know what exactly is causing the events on Jupiter, we do have a solid guess on how the hexagon shape is forming on Saturn. Oxford University did an experiment that revealed that if you were to accelerate water to the fastest points of the winds of Saturn, and the push beyond it, and then have certain rings within the container that would rotate in opposite directions to the whirlwinds, then you will be able to "shape" the water in order to make a hexagon. They were even able to make triangles and ovalss... #InsaneCuriosity#RecentSpaceDiscoveries #Jupiter
