The New Space Race! The Battle Of The Billionaires
We see NASA is firing up its rockets to go back to the moon again and multiple startups and industries have sprung up in this new race with some huge billionaire giants like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson where all are racing to conquer the new space industry. In this video we will talk about all those big billionaires and what are their plans for the future of our space.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This time it’s not only the US and the Russia. Several countries and private companies have announced plans for space exploration. This year alone India and China have announced their bids to be space powers with plans of launching missions to to mars and the moon. US has plans for many deep space missions along with Europe and United Arab Emirates, which has recently sent its probe on the red planet. So why has there been such interest in the space recently!! Well it because the space industry is a new gold rush. The economics is making sense and many new industries have formed around space.  Already there are space 3d printing companies that have printed on the International space station (ISS). The manufacturing of more efficient fibre optic cables has also become possible in space. Space manufacturing could create many startling new technologies that would lead to industries that don’t even exist today.  Extraterrestrial colonisation is a fascination for these billionaires, and space tourism is an exciting field for which many have even paid in advance. NASA had announce its lunar program Artemis “to land the first woman and the next man on the moon” and many private companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are competing to provide their services of commercial payloads for the mission. NASA also plans to land Astronauts on the never visited part of the moon, The South Pole, and give astronauts 6.5 days on the lunar surface. For this NASA turns to private companies and the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, jumped at this opportunity. SpaceX founder Elon Musk successfully launched the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket with the Crew Dragon spacecraft at the Kennedy Space Centre on May 30, 2020 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Space tourism seems is also an area which SpaceX and Blue Origin want to accomplish. But there is another player who wants his part in this, Richard Branson and his Virgin Atlantic. Recently he announced that he has 800 astronauts who have already signed up wanting to go to space.  So let’s discuss the first Billionaire and also the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos and his company Blue Origin. Jeff Bezos has shown his fascination about Space and possibilities of human life in space. The coming couple of years seem to be a busy year for Blue Origin, and American Aerospace manufacturer led by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos founded in the year 2000 the company has a goal of improving space tourism and make it accessible to everyone and even build space colonies for human beings in orbit complete with hotels, amusement parks, restaurants and other infrastructures. His ventures are comparative to that of Richard Branson and Elon Musk who also have put space Exploration as their foremost business interest.  Blue Origin is planning for a construction of a warehouse in Florida for building and launching rockets with dreams to reach and find many ways to explore the moon. The company has been invested in developing a vertical takeoff and landing spacecraft called New Shepard, named after the astronaut Alan Shepherd who was the first American to go to space. It is a reusable rocket and will not only make safe takeoff and landing but also will save loads of cost of building and launching new rockets and aims to take passengers into space and have a quick view of the earth and feel the weightlessness and excitement of space. It plans to do so by sending a capsule into the orbit which would hold a maximum of six people which might increase. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If You happen to see any content that is yours, and we didn't give credit in the right manner please let us know at: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com and we will correct it immediately" "Some of our visual content is under a Attribution-ShareAlike license. What Types Of Dwarf Star Are There?
The term “Dwarf star” refers to any star of average or low luminosity, mass, and size. There are important subclasses of dwarf stars such as white dwarfs and red dwarfs, main sequence stars such our Sun are also classified as dwarf stars whose colors take several ranges from red to blue according to their photosphere temperatures that can be more than 10,000 kelvin or reach a minimum of few thousand kelvins. Curious to learn more about dwarf stars and their types? Keep Watching!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As we mentioned earlier, main sequence stars are classified as dwarf stars, it’s logical to say that most of the stars in the observable universe are dwarf stars, since they are in the main sequence of their life cycle. The main sequence phase is the longest phase in the lifetime of any star, the characteristic feature of this phase is the thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium in the star’s core. The star usually gets cooler, brighter and bigger once it runs out of the hydrogen fuel in its core; therefore any typical star gets bigger before dying. Although the main sequence stars are referred to as dwarf stars, they are quite large, even some of them are several times larger than our sun. Our sun is classified as a G2V star where G2 refers to a photosphere temperature of 5,500 celsius and V refers to its dwarf status. There are some special dwarf classifications that designate small classes of stars; for example, red dwarfs, brown dwarfs, yellow dwarfs and white dwarfs. 1- Red dwarfs, which are the smallest and coolest stars in the main sequence. Additionally, they are the most common type of dwarf stars in the Milky Way, in fact they constitute three-quarters of the milky way, however, they cannot be easily observed due to their extremely low luminosity. The closest red dwarf to Earth is Proxima Centauri, located in the southern constellation of Centaurus. Red dwarfs are very low mass stars with masses about 7.5% of the solar mass and 9% solar radii. These conditions result in low gravitational pressure which in turn leads to low thermonuclear fusion rates that eventually lead to low temperatures. The proton proton chain mechanism is the way by which hydrogen is fused to helium which releases tremendous amounts of energy ,mainly, via convection. However, helium does not accumulate in the core of low mass red dwarfs since they are very convective, which makes them burn large proportions of hydrogen before leaving the main sequence phase. The low nuclear fusion rates in the core along with the convective feature of the low mass red dwarfs result in their extremely long lifespans which are approximated to be longer than the age of the entire universe. 2- Brown dwarfs, whose masses are less than 0.08 solar masses, the internal temperature and pressure of the protostar is insufficient to induce thermonuclear fusion that is necessary to fuse hydrogen into helium which makes the protostar a failed star and it’s called a brown dwarf, midway between Jupiter and any regular star. To illustrate this, stars radiate light and energy due to the fusion of hydrogen into helium in their core. However, the temperature of the core must be a least three million kelvins for the nuclear fusion to occur. And due to the fact that the core temperature increases with increasing gravitational pressure, the mass of the protostar must be at least 75 Jovian masses or 0.08 solar masses. The dwarf star barely marks that limit, it’s more massive than any observed supergiant gas planets and not massive enough to be a star. Despite the fact that they are named brown dwarfs, their colors vary and take a wide range such as orange, red or even mostly magenta. The existence of brown dwarfs was theorized by Shiv S.Kumar in the 1960s, in his theory, Kumar named them balck dwarfs and defined them as dark substellar objects floating freely in space that were not massive enough to sustain hydrogen fusion. 3- Yellow Dwarfs.. 4- White Dwarfs, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If You happen to see any content that is yours, and we didn't give credit in the right manner please let us know at: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com and we will correct it immediately" "Some of our visual content is under a Attribution-ShareAlike license. The Gravity On Different Planets!
“I want to start a diet and lose some weight!”… This is a very common sentence that we hear all the time! But have you ever wondered how your weight would change on another planet? For example, did you know that your weight on the Moon would be only… one sixth of your weight on the Earth? And what about other planets? Watch this video and I will tell you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before discovering how your weight would change on other planets, we have to talk about a very important concept in physics: the difference between mass and weight. In fact, in normal life, we often use these two terms as they were the same thing. However, this is not correct. When we say “my weight is 70 kilograms”, we are doing a mistake, at least from a scientific point of view. In fact, “70 kilograms” refers to our mass, not to our weight. What is the difference between the two, then? Let’s start by talking about mass. In simple words, mass is a quantity describing “the amount of matter” in a body. So, when we say for instance that a child has a mass of 20 kilograms, and a dog has a mass of 5 kilograms, we are just saying that the child “contains a greater amount of matter” than the dog. One thing that should be clear is that the mass of a body is an “intrinsic property” of the body itself, so it doesn’t change if we change its location. This means that it doesn’t matter if we are on the Earth, or on the Moon, or on Mars: the mass of the child will always be 20 kilograms, and the mass of the dog will always be 5 kilograms. That’s because the amount of matter inside each of the two bodies does not change. What about weight instead? Weight, instead, is the direct effect of the force of gravity on a body. We all know that on the Earth, the force of gravity acts on all objects, attracting them towards the ground. The strength of this force, however, depends on the mass of the object. In fact, the larger the mass of a body, the stronger the force of gravity acting on it. To be more precise, the strength of the gravitational force on an object on the Earth is given by this simple formula: And this , indeed, is what we call “weight”. Here, is the mass of the body: so you see that when the mass is larger, the weight is larger as well. But what about ? is a special constant known as the “acceleration of gravity”. In simple words, this particular constant tells us “how strong” is gravity at a certain location. For example, on the surface of the Earth, the value of is approximately . In reality, this value is not exactly the same in all places in the world, since it slightly changes; however, we can neglect these small differences for the purpose of our discussion. Ok, so: to get the weight of a body on the Earth, we just have to multiply its mass by this magic number, . At this point, there should be a question in your mind. When you stand on a scale, the instrument is measuring “how strong” is your body pressing on the plate of the scale: but this depends on the force of gravity. So, the scale must be measuring your weight, not your mass… right? The answer is: yes! However, why do we see a mass (for example: 70 kilograms) on the display then? The reason is, the scale first measures your weight, but then it converts it into a mass. This can be done easily by looking again at our simple formula, . In fact, the scale “knows” the value of (which is on the Earth, as we said), so it is perfectly capable of calculating the value of our mass, , once it has measured our weight, . Ok: after this short introduction about mass and weight, we are now able to broaden our view… and see what happens if we travel to space and to other planets! Let’s imagine that an astronaut of 70 kilograms now jumps on a rocket and starts a journey to space. What happens to his weight? First of all, let’s remind that his mass will never change during the journey: this is because the “amount of matter” that he has in his body is always the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If You happen to see any content that is yours, and we didn't give credit in the right manner please let us know at: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com and we will correct it immediately" "Some of our visual content is under an Attribution-ShareAlike license. No, but what was detected was phosphine which may be a possible sign of life. Or not. It may in fact just be a product of complex chemistry we never knew of before. Observations with the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array found strong evidence for phosphine in Venus' atmosphere. Since phosphine is a byproduct of life on Earth, it may be an indicator of anerobic life on Venus. But more observations and future missions to Venus are needed to find out what is creating the phosphine in its atmosphere, and if it is in fact being caused by life. 🔔 Subscribe for more: https://www.youtube.com/christianready?sub_confirmation=1 🖖 Share this video with a fellow space traveler: https://youtu.be/41RtwxOs4Zg 🔴 Watch my most recent upload: https://goo.gl/QbRcE2 🚀 Help me improve the channel by joining the community on Patreon https://ift.tt/2TVqkQ0 🚀 Check out Launch Pad merchandise! https://ift.tt/2JoLJNc Disclaimer: Some of these links go to one of my websites and some are affiliate links where I'll earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you. 🧭 References: Greaves et al., 2020 Nature Astronomy: https://ift.tt/2Fw9jGq Seager et al., 2020: https://ift.tt/3hIgzNE ✅ Let's connect: For business inquiries - chris AT christianready DOT com Twitter - @launchpadastro Instagram - @launchpadastro Facebook - https://ift.tt/2JpbhtT Discord - https://ift.tt/2TPZVDd 📭 c/o Christian Ready P.O. What's Inside The Sun?
We all know the sun as the huge ball of fire in the sky that keeps our planet from freezing and turning into a ball of ice, and keeps the Earth and the rest of the solar system in its place. But what gives the sun its mighty energy and heat power? And what is happening inside of it that keeps its fire burning? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And a question to those with a wild imagination, can we really slice up a piece of the Sun? And if we miraculously did, what will be the consequences on Earth and the effects on people and even the whole solar system? Will anything ever be the same?! These are some very big questions that we're gonna answer throughout today's video, and to get to them, we need to get to know the sun on a more basic level first. Let's get to it. Let us first start with knowing some basic information about the sun, like we said in a previous video (put link to your video about sun's history), the sun is a "G-type" yellow dwarf star which means it's relatively small in size in comparison with other stars and it's yellowish in colour with a temperature of 15 million degrees Celsius (27 million degrees Fahrenheit). The Sun has been around long before the Earth or any other planet, it was the first thing formed in the solar system, Scientists have estimated the age of the Sun to be around 4.5 billion years old. But where does the sun get its energy? What's inside it that's causing it to keep on burning? That happens due to a process called "nuclear fusion" uhh what? Let's take a step back and explain. The Sun (just like all stars) is made up of hot gases so hot in fact that it’s found in the fourth state of matter; the plasma, and like many other stars, these gases are hydrogen and helium in the case of the Sun. Now, in order for the Sun to sustain itself, it constantly fuses each 2 hydrogen atoms to produce a single helium atom, the fusion process produces energy which keeps the Sun burning. And this whole process is called "nuclear fusion" You might have heard of this process before, because it is the same process used in nuclear reactors here on Earth. Now, the sun is at its main sequence stage which means it will continue on fusing hydrogen into helium for another 4.5 billion years, and then it will go into another stage for 1 billion years and become a "red giant" burning and fusing helium into a higher element which is carbon. If you think that the sun is a piece of work by now, I don't blame you, but wait till you listen to this. The sun is so full of mysteries and unsolved phenomena, one of these is the sun’s corona (no not the Virus) the sun's corona is the outermost layer of the sun's atmosphere. The corona’s mystery resides in its temperature! Let me explain, imagine you’re around a source of fire, and as you get closer to the fire, you feel the heat more, and as you move away, you feel the heat less. Well, that’s not quite what happens around the sun! Weird, right?! The outermost layer of the sun’s atmosphere; the corona is actually HOTTER than the surface of the sun. the sun’s surface has an overwhelming temperature of 5726.667 degrees Celsius (10,340 degrees Fahrenheit), while the atmosphere is well beyond 300 times hotter!!!! The reason behind this abnormal behaviour still puzzles scientists till today, but they have a couple of ideas as to why it happens. One of these ideas is what’s called “nanoflares” presented back in the year 2015, scientists believe that small explosions called nanoflares burst in the sun’s atmosphere in millions every second, and even though they are “nano” in solar terms, they produce an amount of energy equivalent to 10 megatons of hydrogen bom*! These explosions reach a temperature of up to 10 million Kelvins, and they cause the sun’s atmosphere to heat up like we see in the sun’s corona. What Is A Hypernova?
In a galaxy not so far away - only 25 million light-years - astronomers have found what looks like the remnants of strange celestial explosions called hypernovae. "Hypernovae are possibly the most powerful explosions in our Universe since the Big Bang," said Q. Daniel Wan* an astrophysicist at Northwestern University. A hypernova is a highly energetic supernova thought to result from an extreme core collapse scenario in which a massive star of more than 30 solar masses collapses to form a rotating black hole emitting twin energetic jets and surrounded by an accretion disk. This collapse happens so quickly that the outer parts of the star are unaware of what has taken place, and the star is subsequently exploded by vigorous winds of newly-formed Nickel-56 blowing off the accretion disk, and shock waves produced as the jets plough through the stellar material. The hypernova, whose luminosity is powered by the radioactive decay of Nickel-56, is the result of the explosion of the star. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This model for the formation of a hypernova also predicts that these objects should be accompanied by a gamma ray burst or GRB. Although the mechanism to form the gamma rays is still a matter of debate, it is thought that they are produced through internal collisions within the jet itself. Whatever the actual mechanism, the gamma rays are beamed into a narrow cone along the direction of motion of the jet, and are visible to us only if the jet is pointed in our direction. Astronomers estimate that for every GRB we observe, there are several hundreds more we don’t see, those which are oriented in directions away from us. Conclusive evidence for this hypernova-GRB connection was obtained only recently. Although there were many cases where the light curve of the prototype hypernova, SN1998bw, could be fitted to the light curve decay of gamma ray burst optical transients associated with GRBs, it was not until astronomers clearly observed the spectrum of a hypernova within the spectrum of an optical transient that the connection was firmly established. In 1998 one explosion occurred that revolutionized our understanding of the stellar calamity that gives rise to a GRB. In a nearby spiral galaxy SN 1998bw appeared. It bore many unusual features for membership of the Type Ic fraternity. Although clearly belonging to the class of supernovae deficient in hydrogen and helium, this explosion showed very broad emission features and unusually strong radio emission, both characteristics of material moving at a sizable fraction of the speed of light. Essentially simultaneously, GRB 980425 irradiated Beppo-SAX, triggering the hunt for an afterglow. Measurements of the emission from the GRB suggested that at most 10 to the power minus 5 solar masses of material was ejected in the jets. Additionally, the peak gamma ray emission was four orders of magnitude less than many of the previously observed “cosmological” bursts. Overall, this was a fairly wimpy gamma ray burst. Meanwhile, SN 1998bw displayed a number of peculiarities that led some to quickly suggest that this explosion might be more than just spatially coincident with the GRB. They might be causally related. In terms of its peak luminosity SN 1998bw would be regarded as rather underwhelming by today’s standards, clocking in with a peak absolute magnitude of minus 19.5, but at the time this was many times more luminous than the majority of observed Type Ic events. However, given that this modestly high luminosity was driven solely by matter produced and ejected in the explosion itself, the implication was that the explosion was unusually energetic. Two pieces of evidence were important here. The first was the high ejecta velocities, while the second was the above average peak luminosity. Together these implied that 0.5–0.7 solar masses of radioactive nickel had been synthesized – ten times that seen in other core-collapse supernovae – and more in line with thermonuclear Type Ia events. Elon Musk's Question to AI: What's Outside The Simulation?
Elon Musk thinks we are most likely in a simulation, because we exist. If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality, or civilization will end. One of those two things will occur. A computer simulation according to Elon Musk seems to be the best explanation for how we got here without being in a simulation. According to Elon Musk there’s a billion to one chance we’re living in base reality. There is a very good chance that we are living in a computer simulation. The computer simulation theory holds that all of reality as we know it is an artificial construct created by an advanced civilization. There is evidence that computer games are more complex and realistic every year and so it seems very likely that the future of computer logic will simulate worlds that are indistinguishable from ours. Could this advancement of computers eventually lead to a simulated reality that is indistinguishable from our own? The answer is that we don’t know what the future of computers will be, but the fact that we are already close to producing photorealistic images in real time indicates that things are moving in that direction. Complete immersion in a virtual world is no longer a pipe dream - it is very close to being an everyday reality. The next step is that we will place our brains into a computer simulation where we can sense, experience, and interact completely with our world. #ElonMusk #Simulation #AI SUBSCRIBE to our channel "Science Time": https://www.youtube.com/sciencetime24 SUPPORT us on Patreon: https://ift.tt/3iuGEjv BUY Science Time Merch: https://ift.tt/2RmI1VA Sources: Elon Musk talks at Neuralink: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-vbh3t7WVI&t=0s Elon Musk's question to AI with Lex Fridman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIVf3P3zq7g Ray Kurzweil Simulation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZWWBKy30Q4&t=0s Neil deGrasse Tyson: Are We Living in a Simulation? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYAG9dAfy8U Unreal Engine V Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC5KtatMcUw&t=0s KatWalk C: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k0SZ3ewLTY&t=0s

Why do atoms form molecules? The quantum physics of chemical bonds explained
Go to https://ift.tt/30gpmQw you can sign up for free. And also, the first 200 people will get 20% off their annual premium membership. Why do atoms combine to form molecules? The quantum mechanics of chemical bonds and chemistry. How is it that we can have so many chemical substances with only about 100 relatively simple building blocks, called atoms? This is because atoms are rarely found alone. They are mostly found in combinations with other atoms, through the process of chemical bonding. Why does this happen? Why is the universe not full of just atoms floating around? The answer to this important question lies in understanding the role that energy plays in the formation of molecules, and its roots in quantum mechanics. All natural systems tend to adopt a state of lowest energy. A marble at the top of a hill has high potential energy due to gravity. If given the opportunity, it will roll naturally to the bottom of the hill where it will have a lower potential energy. The hydrogen atom by itself will be in its lowest energy state, called the ground state. But when a second hydrogen atom is introduced, some things begin to happen. Both atoms are in their respective ground state. But as they come closer to each other, first, the electrons since they are both negatively positively charged repel each other, but the electron of hydrogen atom 1 also starts to get affected by the positive charge of the proton in hydrogen atom 2. Similarly the electron of atom 2 starts to get attracted to the proton of atom 1. So the electrons of each of the 2 atoms tend to get pulled slightly to the other one’s proton. And if they get close enough, the cloud begins to spread to the space between the two atoms. if the atoms get too close, then the protons begin to repel each other and push each other apart. So there is an optimal distance that the two protons prefer to be in. Shouldn’t the electron clouds be repelling each other, and not allow them to get anywhere near each other? No, there are other interactions that affect the energy of the system: To calculate the lowest energy of this two atom system, or molecule of hydrogen, we have to take into account: 1) The kinetic energy each atom 2) The potential energy between the two protons 3) The potential energy between the two electrons 4) The potential energy between each electron and each proton The sum of the possible outcomes of kinetic and potential energy of this entire system in quantum mechanics is referred to the Hamiltonian, represented by capital H. This Hamiltonian is an operator corresponding to the energy of the system, and once you plug it into the time-independent Schrodinger equation, you can solve to get possible values for energy. This is not a trivial equation to solve. But it can be represented for simplicity by the morse potential graph. The energy two atoms system is less than the energy of two separate one atom systems. This is the reason if a bunch of hydrogen atoms are near each other, they will naturally combine to form a molecule of H2 rather than float around by themselves. This sharing of electrons by two atoms of hydrogen is called a covalent bond. Not all atoms form bonds with atoms of their own kind, nor with just any other atom. All the substances strive to achieve remarkable stability by sharing or having magical numbers of electrons – 2, 10, 18, 36, 54, or 86 electrons in so called shells around the nucleus of atoms. These numbers correspond to the number of electrons contained in the 6 naturally occurring noble gases. These are inert elements because they already contain the number of electrons needed to form highly stable shells around the nucleus. Other elements strive to contain a full set of electron in their outer shell called the valence shell. Any element with an unfilled outer shell has a much higher chemical potential energy than these noble gases. But what's so special about these numbers? Chemists will say, all atoms strive to form a valence set of electrons. And this attractive force for atoms to share electrons in order to form a full valence shell, is balanced by the repulsive forces of their electron clouds and protons. #hamiltonian #schrodingerequation Quantum mechanically, it all has to do with potential energy of multi atom systems. The Schrodinger equation and the Pauli exclusion principle are the underlying principles.

Two black holes, with masses 85 and 66 times the Sun, merged into an intermediate mass black hole 142 solar masses designated GW190521. The merger was detected by the LIGO-Virgo gravitational wave collaboration. This black hole merger is considered to be "impossible" because at least one of the two black holes that merged couldn't have formed in a supernova. Instead, they belong in the "pair instability mass gap" of black holes and must have merged in a prior generation in a cluster or perhaps in a quasar's accretion disk. 00:00 Start 05:07 the GW190521 signal 09:11 the black hole mass gap problem 11:38 Solutions to mass gap problem 14:08 Alternative scenarios 16:27 Future detections 17:45 Blinkist 19:40 Patreon thanks 🔔 Subscribe for more: https://www.youtube.com/christianready?sub_confirmation=1 🖖 Share this video with a fellow space traveler: https://youtu.be/rIsGM2xkjHg 🔴 Watch my most recent upload: https://goo.gl/QbRcE2 🚀 Help me improve the channel by joining the community on Patreon https://ift.tt/2TVqkQ0 🚀 Check out Launch Pad merchandise! https://ift.tt/2JoLJNc Disclaimer: Some of these links go to one of my websites and some are affiliate links where I'll earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you. 🧭 References: LIGO Science Release: GW190521: A Binary Black Hole Merger with a Total Mass of 150 Msun (published in Physical Review Letters): https://ift.tt/32N7yfW Properties and astrophysical implications of the 150 Msun binary black hole merger GW190521: https://ift.tt/33eMGyk GW190521 parameter estimation samples and figure data https://ift.tt/3lWYNbU A Candidate Electromagnetic Counterpart to the Binary Black Hole Merger Gravitational Wave Event S190521g. What Is The Lifetime Of A Photon?
As you may have read somewhere, light only takes 8 minutes to cover the distance between the Sun and the Earth. Yes, that’s an insanely short time, considering that we are talking about 150 million kilometres! But the light that reach us is actually produced at the centre of the Sun, in its core, where nuclear reactions occur. So, have you ever asked yourself how long does light take to reach the surface of the Sun, starting from its centre? Well, we may attempt to find a rough estimate. Consider that the Sun has a radius of “only” 696,000 kilometres (compared to the 150 million kilometres that separates it from the Earth)… so we would expect light to reach the surface in, let’s say, a few seconds, is it? …you may be surprised to hear that this estimate is totally wrong! In fact, light takes… (drums)…. Thousands of years to reach the surface of the Sun! Wait, what? How is that possible? …curious to know how? Stick with us and we will tell you the answer in this video! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before talking about the journey of light from the centre of the Sun to the Earth, we need to do a short digression about light. Stick with us, it won’t be that long. What is light? Well, light is something fascinating: in fact, it has a “dual” nature. What does it mean? It means sometimes it behaves as a wave, and sometimes it behaves as a particle. Let me tell you more. In the past centuries, scientists believed that light was a wave. And they were right, but.. that was only half of the story. At the end of the 19th century, and precisely in 1900, in order to explain some weird phenomena that were puzzling scientists, the German physicist Max Planck postulated that light was actually consisting of particles, called “photons”. Planck’s idea found confirmation five years later, in 1905, when Albert Einstein (this guy again!) managed to successfully explain the “photoelectric effect” by using Planck’s idea. The photoelectric effect is a well-known phenomenon that occurs when light is shone at a material (metals, in particular) and electrons are emitted from its surface as a result. By thinking light as a wave, some aspects of this phenomenon could not be explained. For instance, if the frequency of light was under a certain threshold, no electrons were emitted from the material, no matter how strong the intensity of the light beam is. However, by thinking light as a “bunch of particles”, the photons, this effect could then be explained. In fact, each photon in the light beam carries a certain amount of energy, and when the photon hits an electron in the material, it gives all its energy to the electron, which is now able to “escape” the material. The energy of the photon depends on the frequency of the light beam: so if this frequency is lower than a certain threshold, the photon has not enough energy to allow the electron to “escape” the material. The intensity of the light beam only determines the number of photons in the beam: so it doesn’t matter if we increase the intensity, we will only have more photons, but none of them will be able to “free” electrons from the material, because none of them has enough energy to do that. For realizing this, Einstein won the Nobel Prize. Now that we have realized that light consists of photons, let’s go back to our original topic: why does light take so long to reach the surface of the Sun? To answer this question, we have to start by looking at what happens in the core of the Sun. As in every other star, the core of the Sun is the “motor” that produces all the energy and the light emitted by our star. Moons Beyond the Solar System
Most of the planets in the Solar System have moons. We have discovered almost 200 in our Solar System alone, and so we expect that the Milky Way is teeming with moons- perhaps more moons than planets and stars. With this many, it greatly increases the number of worlds in the galaxy which could support life- and so we are keen to find them. However, they are so distant and dark that detecting extrasolar moons, or "exomoons", is a tremendous challenge. Connect with me on social media! The Mystery Of The Massive Star Disappeared!
In this video scientists need to give answers to something that has been discovered and it is considered to be a mystery. Suddenly a massive star disappeared ! Let’s start with our topic that has to do with a Unique star. Hi everyone, we re-uploaded the video, improving the editing. Hope you like it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe for more videos:https://www.youtube.com/c/InsaneCuriosity?sub_confirmation=1? Business Enquiries: Lorenzovareseaziendale@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When we look up in the sky, we can see the Sun, the Moon and the Stars and as we have mentioned before the stars are astronomical objects consisting of a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by their own gravity. Consequently, the study of the birth, life, and deat* of stars is central to the field of astronomy and what we know is that they are huge celestial bodies made mostly of hydrogen and helium that produce light and heat from the churning nuclear forges inside their cores. Stars are the most widely recognized astronomical objects, and represent the most fundamental building blocks of galaxies. Imagine that our galaxy, the Milky Way, contains an estimated 300 billion stars and we are able to perceive with the naked eye, around 2.000-2.500 stars. It is worth mentioning that stars have life cycles based on their initial mass. For instance the larger a star, the shorter its life, although most massive stars live for billions of years. We do know that Stars form in huge clouds of gas and dust. Gravity causes these clouds to contract thus drawing the gas closer. As these materials accumulate in the center, density raises and pressure increases. This causes the matter to heat up and glow while the mass increases. Temperatures and pressure continually grow until hydrogen can be fused. The heat generated by this nuclear fusion causes the gas to expand and when hydrostatic equilibrium is reached, the star is born and we are able to observe and analyze them. One of these stars, is known as Kinman Dwarf or PHL 293B. The reason why we are going to pay attention to this specific star, is because something extraordinary happened…and our job here is to give further details as what happened seem to be difficult to comprehend. So let’s take things from the beginning and let the journey begin. Before we continue with our exploration to PHL 293B star, be sure to like or dislike the video so that we can continue improve and make these videos better for you the viewer. Plus, be sure to subscribe to the channel so that you don’t miss any of our weekly videos! The PHL 293B star belongs to the dwarf galaxy in the constellation of Aquarius and it lies approximately 75 million light-years away. Let’s see on a closer look this galaxy. A dwarf galaxy is a small galaxy composed of about 100 million up to several billion stars. Dwarf galaxies' formation and activity are thought to be heavily influenced by interactions with larger galaxies. Astronomers identify numerous types of dwarf galaxies, based on their shape and composition. A good example of a dwarf galaxy is the Large Magellanic Cloud, located about 160,000 light-years from Earth. It contains about 1/10th the mass of the Milky Way, and has about 10% of its stars. Two other dwarf galaxies are even closer to the Milky Way, and have been captured by our galaxy’s gravity. Other dwarf galaxies are just remnants that have been torn apart by the Milky Way’s gravity, and are currently being incorporated into the structure of our galaxy. The massive star called PHL 293B, is one of the brightest and largest star known until today and many astrophysics claim that we may have detected one of the most massive stars of the local Universe going gently into the night. In this point we need to mention that massive stars are among the most important sources of ionizing photons and chemical elements, producing a significant proportion of the elements currently present in the Universe.
